Ice Cold  Beer & Appetizers

The chefs and Official Taste Testers at 1845 have it pretty rough. Hardly a day goes by that one of them isn’t making a small plate of appetizers. ‘Doing a little quality control’ is just a part of the job is what they say. Sometimes it seems they have the Poblano Meatballs several times a week.

Really? The recipe doesn’t change. But it’s a good sign for diners when the restaurant people can’t keep their forks out of one or more of the menu offerings!

Here are some suggestions for the best part of the day - 1845 Happy Hour in Flower Mound!

Make mine a Blood and Honey from Revolver Brewing in Granbury Texas! And I’ll take an order of Smoked and Deep-Fried Wings along with that! And a little more honey in the Ranch plus that sweet barbecue sauce for dipping, please.

Really though, you can’t beat the newest addition! Ivan’s Fried Texas-Sized Jalapenos! They are hand-battered as you order and served with the House Ranch. You might match this with a stronger beer like Yellow Rose SMaSH IPA from Lone Pint Brewery, Magnolia, Texas.

A little closer to home, try the Deep Ellum IPA. Deep Ellum Brewing, since 2011, was the first craft brewery in Dallas. This IPA would make a great partner to one of the diner-favorites. Poblano Meatballs were always going to be on the menu at 1845 Taste Texas at Lakeside! Smoked, fried, and served with jalapeno jelly and honey ranch. Hard to top this Amazing Appetizer!

Red or White? Or Something Else!

The Shrimp Cocktail served with Tortilla Chips is going to be a match for your favorite white. Ask a server or bartender for advice. They’re fun, they’re friendly, and they’re here for you - with every desire to make your visit a great memory! And of course, no need to limit yourself to just the whites!

Pork Belly and a Pinot would be a fantastic choice. And 1845 has no less than 5 Pinots to choose from. Juggernaut Pinot Noir to CakeBread! And that Pork Belly recipe includes a unique Dr. Pepper glaze and 2 toasted slider buns. The plate comes out dressed in thinly sliced green onions.

Texas Inspired Cocktails

Smoked Salmon, homemade dill sauce, and crostini need something with a touch of class. And maybe a splash of gin or vodka? How do Texans make Martinis?

Is there any reason why you wouldn’t put an 1845 Margarita alongside a few Lockhart Fried Quail? These things are deep-fried, drizzled with honey, and delicious. You might wish you had 2 servings.
