North Texas in general is covered with trails of all kinds. A quick search on a city name and trails will keep you wandering north Texas for months!
If you’re looking for mileage, the A-train Rail Trail is 19 miles of pavement – bike, rollerblade, walk or roll the path along the commuter line. 19 miles running between Denton and Lewisville. You could burn up plenty of calories, shower, and be at Lakeside by 4 for our Amazing Happy Hour!
Flower Mound is riddled with a real variety of trails. Whether biking, hiking, or walking you could easily cross town with very little time spent on roads. Trails start and stop but often just require a jog through a neighborhood to reconnect. Getting to 1845 and Lakeside DFW would take some route planning but wouldn’t really be too difficult. Think Live Music on the Patio starting at 7:30 Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Who’s got the pickup to get the bikes home?
A search for Grapevine trails will lead you to 22 miles of mostly paved trails winding along beautiful Lake Grapevine. You can traverse through 9 parks and if you go from west to east, guess where you could end up? 1845, the best steakhouse in Denton County!
But You Can’t Beat Getting Out on the Water in a Kayak
Of course, you can’t dock at 1845 Taste Texas either. But you can build up an appetite and then sink into one of our cozy booths afterward. Bring friends, unwind, and soothe those aching muscles over your favorite wine, beer, or cocktail(s).
Put in at Marshall Creek Boat Ramp in Trophy Club Park and then head left, or in more appropriate boating terms, west up Denton Creek. It takes a while, but it’s a nice, pretty, and peaceful paddle to the bridge at 377 and back. This might be just the right opportunity to try something to go from 1845! Because while the vibe is uplifting, you may have lifted your kayak too many times to join in. You KNOW the food is extraordinary and worth the drive.
For those of you to the north, try setting off from Pilot Knoll Park on Lewisville Lake and heading west-ish up Hickory Creek. Patience will take you to Old Alton Bridge, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and also nicknamed Goatman’s Bridge. Lots of local lure about that. Ponder your last mouth-watering 30 oz Smoked Pork Chop as you paddle. And about lunchtime strike up a conversation about how much you could use a Pecan Candied Bacon Chicken Sandwich. What a day! I bet you’re beat!
