A great place for the locals to enjoy. Large bar for drinks and apps. Best Chicken Fried Steak dinner. $24 includes steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Great wine selection. Our server was great! Recommended Austin Hope wine 2020 and it was very good. If you haven’t been, add it to your list. Also, they take reservations on RESY. Another great Marty B establishment. “Finished in the bottle” is their signature. Just what does that mean? Pretty fascinating stuff. The goal with whiskey is always to get just the right complexity into what we hope to pour as your new favorite cocktail! And that complexity really comes out of the wood used in aging the whiskey. You’re probably thinking - The word barrel could have been used in place of wood?
Different woods, different products. All Oak & Eden whiskeys are aged at least three years in American Oak Barrels. Traditionally the liquid is moved on to a second barrel, maybe of different wood, to allow more flavor. Instead of a second barrel, Oak and Eden go right to bottling. Except, before each bottle is sealed, more wood is added to continue the finishing process inside the bottle.
The differentiation in Oak & Eden offerings comes from the wood, or rather, the 5” spire placed into each bottle. Each spire is cut or notched to allow maximum wood exposure. And different woods with different finishes, toasted or not, or infused, are used to create the many whiskeys offered by Oak & Eden.
Finished Oak & Eden Whiskeys include not only the Rye & Spire carried at 1845 Taste Texas in Flower Mound, but also Bourbon & Spire, Wheat & Spire, and 4 Grain & Spire. Infused whiskeys, the spire has been infused with flavor include Honey, Caribbean Rum, Cold Brew Coffee, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
