Bourbon is near and dear to the hearts of many. The following are part of the bar offerings at 1845. If you enjoy refined bourbon, one of these is sure to satisfy you.
For more than 200 years, what is now called Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, had been producing fine Bourbon. Even through the 13 years of prohibition! This distillery was one of four chosen to produce medicinal bourbon. Suspicious diagnosis at the time included cancer, depression, and indigestion!

Blanton’s Single Barrel
This was the first Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially. And it was originally a private bourbon for long-time president, Albert Blanton.
According to their website, this bourbon is referred to as “Liquid Gold.” Tasting notes include a nose of nutmeg and spices. And notes of vanilla with hints of honey, strong caramel, and corn. The finish is corn and nutmeg.
The bottle? – Totally cool, it’s round and chiseled with a horse and rider on top!
Eagle Rare Single Barrel 17
While it does not have a unique bottle, but it does come with a heavy price tag. It is aged in oak barrels for nearly two decades and is sold only once a year in small quantities.
Described as polished, its aroma is wine-like with hints of almond, cigar box, and cinnamon. Tastes mid-palate include leather, vanilla, and tobacco. It lingers finishing with a hint of leather and toffee.
Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year
Also called Pappy’s 12 is, per their site, very pleasant and competes as an after-dinner drink. It has aromas of dried mango, cocoa, fruit, and spiced peach and has flavors of honey, oak, and tobacco finishing dry with a tingle.

This is rated the #1 Bourbon Whiskey in the world! 99 out of 100! It has a smooth and rich profile. Also noted on the website under tasting notes – It is intense and tantalizing. Smooth with a citrus zest note. Also, sherry notes, dried fruits, and vanilla. The finish is long and elegant!
